Description of a typical day

Program of the day visit.

Your English-speaking guide will pick you up at your hotel at the agreed time, and then you will leave on foot for a day of visit. You will start by visiting the mausoleum of Amir Timur (also known as Gur-i-Amir), a family burial place built in honor of Tamerlane’s successor (Amir Timur). This building has retained important Iranian architectural influences. On the way to the stunning Reghistan Square, you will discover the city center of Samarkand. Three gigantic buildings have been standing there since the 15th century. The Siyob market is also worth a visit to taste the local sweets. You will visit the Bibi Khanum mosque built in honor of the great emperor Amir Timur. You will end the day on the city walls of the old town of Afrosiyob where the mausoleums of the necropolis of Shakhi Zinda are hidden. Most of these mausoleums were built during the reign of Amir Timur and Ulugbek (grandson of the great emperor). You will then enjoy a beautiful sunset over the domes of the necropolis. Return to the city center and end your day with us.
