Shahrisabz is a city located south of Samarkand in Uzbekistan. It is known as the birthplace of Amir Timur (Tamerlane). To get there from Samarkand there are two options: crossing one of the most beautiful passes or going around the mountain range. To enjoy the nature better, we suggest the first option. You will leave Samarkand by car and cross the pass while enjoying the beautiful landscapes. The city of Shahrisabz is registered on the Unesco heritage list since the year 2000.

Description of a typical day

Program of the day visit.

Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in the morning. You will leave in the direction of the native land of Amir Timur. The road will cross the mountain pass and you will have a few stops along the way. The first stop will be to visit Chaytan Jiga, or Devil’s Helmet, a mysterious plateau located at the foot of the Zarafshan Mountains. Following a winding road, you will climb to the top of the pass where there is a dried fruit market. You can also admire the beautiful scenery on both sides of the mountain. Once you arrive in the city of Shahrisabz, you will visit the historical center with three impressive monuments that show the development of the city during the reign of Amir Timur. Then you will have lunch in one of the restaurants of the city.

In the late afternoon, return to Samarkand through the pass. End of your day with us.
